Historic apartment buildings

Bergdorf renovated two historic apartment buildings in 2008 and 2013.

The first one is part of Bern’s old town, a World Heritage site, and dates back to the early 16th century. The ugly duckling, which nobody had dared touch for years, became a beauty with four apartments and a ground floor café. The project was twice awarded with the Dr. Jost Hartmann-Preis, for good renovation and good concept.

The second one is an apartment building from 1900, situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood of Bern. Part of a perimeter block, it had hardly been touched since its construction. Bergdorf renovated the four apartments and added a new one in the former attic.
