With its network of specialists, Bergdorf develops concepts for building conversions and urban renewal projects, renovates buildings and designs complete interiors.
HISTORIC CHALET / FARMHOUSE
In 2012 Bergdorf completely renovated this historic gem in Interlaken. Originally a farmhouse from the early 19th century, the building along with its attached stable had been turned into a country house in 1890. Bergdorf preserved all the original features, making the building fit for its next 100 years.

Between 2015 and 2017 Bergdorf step by step renovated this chalet mansion from 1897, restoring original features, replacing kitchen and bathrooms from the 1960s. The original layouts and structure were preserved, while the three-storey-house was refitted as a contemporary family home and B&B. This beautiful apartment building from 1900 in a quiet residential neighbourhood of Berne is part of a perimeter block and has hardly been touched since its construction. Bergdorf renovated the four apartments and added a new one in the former attic. For the first time Bergdorf is using solar panels on the roof for warm water heating.

This building, dating back to the early 16th century, laid the founding stone for Bergdorf's experience in revitalising and renovating historic structures. The ugly duckling, which nobody had dared touch for years, became a beauty with four apartments and a ground floor café in 2008.
The project was twice awarded with the Dr. Jost Hartmann-Preis, for good renovation and good concept.

A fun job: turning an 1980s style apartment (think laminate floors, white walls and dark wood) into a cosy and elegant home. Bergdorf used grey paint, pine wood floors and simple contemporary design pieces to create an airy atmosphere with a Nordic touch. PHOTOGRAPHY: MARTIN GUGGISBERG
Bergdorf gave the drab interior of this 1960s chalet a complete makeover, keeping the signature panelling, stone fireplace and windows, and turned it into an atmospheric weekend retreat for a family from Zurich. PHOTOGRAPHY: MARTIN GUGGISBERG
In this beautiful apartment from 1899 nothing more than a soft renovation was necessary - new paints and an updated kitchen, that preserves the charm of the original. PHOTOGRAPHY: MARTIN GUGGISBERG
The commission for this little chalet from the 1960s was to open up its small rooms and create a friendly, contemporary interior.
